Creativity is our jam. Nerdiness is our fuel. Making stuff is our mission.

Fancy Pants Studios is a small but mighty creative studio built on a love of writing, art, and making cool stuff just because it’s fun. Because fun is a function. We’re a little quirky, a little crafty, and definitely the kind of people who geek out over fonts, fictional worlds, and perfectly labeled resin bottles.

The studio was founded by Harvey Moreno—a writer, illustrator, and self-proclaimed “former microbiologist turned story wizard.” His creative partner-in-chaos is Natalie Ratner, whose unique perspective and wild imagination shape everything from characters to color palettes.

Together, they write, draw, design, and 3D model from their base in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, where Harvey’s been living for the past 20 years (after growing up in Southern California). Most of the spark behind their work? Trying to make Harvey’s kids laugh

Why “Fancy Pants”?

The name came from Harvey’s kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ahern, who used to say, “Well look at you, Mr. Fancy Pants,” whenever he showed her a drawing he was proud of. The phrase stuck—and it became a reminder to always create boldly, unapologetically, and with a little flair.

We’re not just here to make things—we’re here to help others make things, too. Whether you’re a writer, dancer, game designer, welder, or sheep herder: GO FRICKEN DO IT. The world needs your weird.
